Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness.

Matthew 6:33

Our invitation

Dear
OBC
Family,

When God is moving and lives are being forever changed, it never gets old. I am more excited about all God is doing to build His Kingdom at OBC than I have ever been.

Jesus said: “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” (Matthew 6:33)

These are powerful words; just imagine all the possibilities if Jesus’ church lived Kingdom First lives. For months, God has been stirring my heart about what Kingdom First living can look like at OBC. So, I want to introduce to you Kingdom First at OBC.

Kingdom First is a two-year ministry emphasis (January 2027–January 2029) designed to keep God’s Kingdom first in everything we do at OBC. Over the next two years, I am going to challenge you to WORSHIP, SERVE, REACH, and GIVE. When Jesus’ church leads Kingdom First lives, I believe the result will be a huge Kingdom Harvest.

Kingdom First at OBC, get ready!

Pastor Steve

Why Kingdom First?

Because everything wants first place in our lives, but only Jesus deserves it.

Through Kingdom First
at OBC,
we want to intentionally give the Kingdom of God first place, because it matters most and lasts forever.

Kingdom First Strategy

The Four Directions
  1. Bow Down and give God glory

Everything OBC does should be done under God’s authority and for His glory.

  2. Look In and grow stronger

OBC wants to grow stronger in our discipleship ministries from preschool all the way through senior adults.

  3. Lift Up people in need

OBC wants to move toward people with practical needs, relational barriers, and local burdens.

  4. Reach Out with the Gospel

OBC wants to expand the Kingdom through the Gospel moving into new communities, churches, and the nations.

One church in more places

Through OBC’s history, putting God’s Kingdom first has always resulted in reaching more people, but it always required change.

For OBC to continue to grow will require a shift to a multi-site strategy.

As part of this new growth strategy, OBC is launching a new campus in Reidsville, NC.

Through a partnership with Freedom Academy, which has graciously opened its facility to us, God has already provided a place for our Reidsville campus.

Why Reidsville?

A high percentage of OBC attendees come from Reidsville; therefore, this is a great opportunity to reach their friends and neighbors.

Your Part

Pray these four things

  1. Worship

Lord, what needs to change so that my priorities reflect my worship of You?

  2. Serve

Lord, how can I build Your Kingdom by serving my church?

  3. Reach

Lord, give me Gospel boldness to reach out to those who need You.

  4. Give

Lord, give me the faith to be a Kingdom giver by storing up my treasures in heaven, because I believe everything I have comes from You.

Commitment Day

Commitment cards are available at OBC.

For two years Kingdom First invites every person and every family to ask one honest question:

“Lord, what would obedience look like for me?”

Kingdom First fulfills our vision:
helping people love Jesus and everyone else.
